Alien, Leatherface rip into ‘Mortal Kombat X’

“Mortal Kombat X” game director Ed Boon has been teasing fans for months about the possibility of bringing the Xenomorph of “Alien” fame to the latest iteration of the bloody fighter.

Well, it turns out Ed Boon wasn’t kidding about everyone’s favorite extraterrestrial boogeyman. It has just been revealed that the Xenomorph is in fact slithering his way into the brawler’s upcoming Kombat Pack 2.

It’s important to note that since a Tarkatan played host to the alien chestburster, the “Mortal Kombat X” version of the Xenomorph will share certain anatomical structures with Baraka. This explains the Xenomorph’s hulking appearance, as well as the blades ejecting out of its arms in the video.

But the Baraka/Xenomorph hybrid won’t be alone as a guest character. As can be seen in the video, also ripping into the already crowded roster is Leatherface from “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” How this rural lunatic finds his way into Outworld is anyone’s guess.

It’s beginning to look like a horror movie battle royal. Of course, when you can now stage the “Alien” vs. “Predator” match of your dreams, there’s little to complain about. Here’s hoping for Pinhead, Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Pumpkinhead, Hannibal Lecter, Jigsaw, Candyman, and maybe Chucky in future Kombat Packs.

The other two new characters are Bo Rai Cho, who is a healthy dude who drinks a lot and vomits on people, and a cyborg hilariously named Tri-Borg, who’s supposedly a hybrid of Sektor, Cyrax, and Smoke.

Given Ed Boon’s passion for dropping hints about “Mortal Kombat X” developments, we can expect to learn more about these four new characters in the near future. — TJD, GMA News
