New ‘Mortal Kombat X’ trailer features Alien, Leatherface

Early in December 2015, it was announced that four new fighters are headed to “Mortal Kombat X” through Kombat Pack 2. The reveal even came with a teaser identifying said fighters as Leatherface, Triborg, Bo’ Rai Cho, and Alien.

Now another trailer has launched, and this time, we get to see the warriors in action.

There’s more to Leatherface than ugly teeth and his trademark chainsaw; this deranged, apron-wearing killer is surprisingly quick on his feet for someone who’s probably never stepped inside a gym. Thanks to his weapon of choice, he’s got enviable reach, too.

Triborg is a combination of the cyborgs Sektor, Cyrax, and Smoke. This makes him a teleporting, missiles-launching, buzz saw-wielding badass. It helps that he sports utterly sick robo-locks, though what use a machine would have for such a purely cosmetic feature remains a question.

The portly yet spry Bo’ Rai Cho has successfully weaponized his farts, making him a truly terrifying fighter. He also takes a page out of E. Honda’s book by using his ample backside to squash opponents flat. And yes, he still projectile vomits on people. Linda Blair would be proud!

Lastly, we’ve got the Baraka Alien (Barakalien?), whose moves are some of the most inventive in the game, yet. You can see him unleashing facehuggers on enemies, striking fast with his long, sharp tail, and even calling on other Xenomorphs for assistance. His fatalities, which are only hinted at in the video, are tributes to the movies’ most memorable scenes. Now all we need is a skin for Sonya Blade that makes her look like Ellen Ripley.

The updates comprising Kombat Pack 2 will be doled out throughout the year, so expect more news about Alien, Leatherface, Triborg and Bo’ Rai Cho soon. — TJD, GMA News
