Sony bringing back Crash Bandicoot, hints NECA Toys director

It looks like the cat may have been let out of the bag as far as Sony Computer Entertainment’s future plans are concerned, as NECA Toys director Randy Falk apparently confirmed that a Crash Bandicoot reboot is in the works by the gaming giants behind Sony Playstation.

During this weekend’s New York Toy Fair, YouTube Toy reviewer and enthusiast Pixel Dan Eardley caught up with Falk and asked about some of the upcoming releases that the company is currently working on.

Known for their “Reel Toys” movie line of action figures, NECA is expanding its line to include characters from Sony Computer Entertainment’s rich line of games, including Nathan Drake from the Uncharted series and Kratos from the God of War franchise.

What was surprising, however, was that Falk also mentioned that Crash Bandicoot was among those properties listed that they working on, pretty much confirming that Sony is working on bringing back their former exclusive mascot.

“We’ve got back in with Sony.  And looking at some of the other titles… I see they’re bringing Crash Bandicoot back, so there’s great stuff there.”

While Activision still holds the rights to the character at the moment, Sony may have struck a deal and fixed things in order to bring this iconic character back into their fold.

Sony’s official Twitter account did tease that a comeback was not impossible, so this is just another confirmation that the inevitable will happen sooner rather than later. — TJD, GMA News
