Apple may unveil iPhone SE this week

This week could mark the return of “budget range” phones from Apple, which may push through with its plan to release rumoured iPhone SE.

TechRadar reported that the iPhone SE, which is supposed to stand for iPhone special edition, is expected to be announced at Apple’s March 2016 keynote. It is a throwback in terms of phone design, as it closely resembles the iPhone 5S with its 4-inch screen. Some users who are quite not a fan of the bulky phablets Apple recently released in the existence of iPhone 6S and 6S Plus might find this news exciting.

A purportedly leaked image shows how iPhone SE may stack up with iPhone 5 in terms of design. The photo, which was posted to a forum, shows the SE having iPhone 6’s rounder edges and TouchID. It also going to have 6’s relocated sleep button and rounded volume buttons.

However, even with the leaked photo spreading that it would have a plastic shell body like its predecessor iPhone 5C, nothing is still certain. A leaked video shared on YouTube on the other hand shows how slightly-larger than 4-inch SE would be, resembling 5S but with the metal finish of iPhone 6.

Aside from its throwback size, iPhone SE is packed with the fresher specs introduced in the later versions of iPhone: 12 MP camera and 4K recording from iPhone 6S. It is also rumoured to ship the same A8 processor iPhones 6 has.

These specs however, are so much different from earlier specs divulged by MyDrivers.com.  According to the Chinese blog, iPhone SE apparently has 136 x 640 display, A9 processor, 2GB of RAM, 8MP camera, Touch ID and three colour options - gold, silver and black.

In terms of the price, it is expected that iPhone SE would be affordable with its mid-range price.

One thing is for sure—we have to wait for the official launch just to get an idea on what this Apple’s new phone installment has to offer. — Kiersnerr Gerwin Tacadena/TJD, GMA News
