Ilocos Norte museum goes old school with old tech
Do you remember the first video game gadget you had as a kid? What about the first phone you owned? Well all these gadgets may be old but they are not lost as these can be found in a museum in Ilocos Norte.
According to a report on GMA News TV's "Balitanghali", The museum is like a technological timeline that houses several gadgets from the past up to the present.
Some of the earliest cameras including box cameras, Kodak folding cameras, film cameras and modern-day Polaroids are showcased in the museum.
Mobile phones are displayed as well, with handsets like the famous Nokia 3310 to the latest touchscreen phones.
Vintage computers, laptops, portable gaming consoles and digital watches are also exhibited.
The man behind the tech museum is John Garcia Sr., a retired Filipino technician who worked for US-based tech company IBM.
He acquired most of the gadgets displayed from flea markets, garage sales, and online sellers. Some of the old gadgets still work.
The museum officially opened last April, and entrance is free. — Kiersnerr Gerwin Tacadena/DVM, GMA News
