Telemedicine app brings healthcare to Pinoys' pockets


Europe-based Mediaxes A/S  is bringing doctors not just in the doorsteps but in your pockets with what is touted as the first telemedicine app in the Philippines.

MyPocketDoctor, a mobile app available for both Android and iOS, enables users to consult with a doctors instantly.

To begin using the app, users have to register on the MyPocket website (mypocketdoctor.com). Once registered, the user should download the application through their mobile phones.

Registration can also be done via text message to 29290DOCTOR (29290-362867). A nurse will assist the users in completing a one-time registration which includes a thorough assessment for the users’ Electronic Patient Journal (EPJ).

In order to avail of the consultation services, users have to use prepaid cards, which cost around P450. Cards can be purchased through the website and partner Health Maintenance Organizations.

The MyPocketDoctor services is accessible 24/7. Clients may choose to communicate in one of several Filipino languages, including Cebuano.

Video consultations can be undertaken with a stable internet connection and as needed.
