Imperium Pro Team crushes the competition in HotS SEA Fall Regional 2016

After several hours of savage combat, Imperium Pro Team are now the “Heroes of the Storm” Southeast Asia Fall Regional champions!

The SEA Fall Regional took place in Thailand on September 24. The participating teams were Singapore’s Resurgence, Malaysia’s Black Sheep 5, Thailand’s Playstomp Gaming, and of course, Imperium Pro Team – formerly Renovatio and the winner of the September 10 Philippines National Finals.

Imperium Pro Team currently consists of team members Stronger, Harharr, Nsj, Zeys, and Mirr.

The SEA Fall Regional was a double elimination tournament. Round 1 and the Semifinals consisted of best-of-three matches, while the Final Round was best-of-five with a +1 advantage for the winner of the previous rounds.

ROUND 1, MATCH 1: Resurgence vs. Black Sheep 5 (BS5)

Resurgence dominated both Game 1 and Game 2 to defeat BS5 with a score of 2-0 in their favor.

ROUND 1, MATCH 2: Imperium Pro Team (IPT) vs. Playstomp Gaming (PSG)

Game 1: Cursed Hollow

Seven minutes into Game 1, PSG wrecked IPT during a clash for a tribute. Then, two minutes later, IPT massacred PSG, which ended with Muradin (Stronger) crushing Sylvanas’ skull with a Dwarf Toss. IPT then seized a boss, cursed PSG, and razed the bottom lane forts. Thirteen minutes in, IPT captured another boss and flattened PSG’s posterior upper fort. But PSG managed to force IPT back, giving them the opportunity to curse IPT and dismantle their middle and lower anterior forts. Unfortunately, PSG was wiped out in their assault on IPT’s base, allowing IPT to grab a boss and ruin PSG’s remaining lower fort. Afterwards, PSG’s strong defense thwarted two IPT attempts on their core and even exterminated three IPT heroes. However, PSG’s ensuing assault on the IPT base resulted in disaster; with four of their heroes dead, nothing could stop IPT from marching to their core and claiming victory.

Final stats: Imperium Pro Team Lv22, 25 kills vs. Playstomp Gaming Lv21, 13 kills

Game 2: Towers of Doom

With the help of Sgt. Hammer (Nsj), IPT seized PSG’s lower fort six minutes into Game 2. Tyrael (Harharr) and Falstad (Zeys) then seized the altars, causing massive damage to PSG’s core. Ten minutes in, PSG reclaimed their lower fort, but at the cost of losing the altars to IPT once more. A minute later, IPT stole the boss from PSG, then slaughtered four of their heroes. IPT continued capturing altars to bring PSG’s core to 1%. As the game neared its thirteenth minute, PSG slayed three IPT heroes. Later, in their defense of their lower fort, PSG murdered all but one IPT hero. PSG captured an altar to bring IPT’s core down to 24%, then stole their lower fort. Despite their best efforts to stay alive, PSG lost a clash for the boss, which allowed IPT to bombard their core until it was dust.

SEMIFINALS: Imperium Pro Team vs. Resurgence

Game 1: Sky Temple

Four minutes into Game 1, a sneaky Arcane Orb from Li-Ming (Zeys) sent Resurgence’s Tychus to his death. After dismantling two anterior forts, IPT seized a temple to wreck Resurgence’s posterior upper fort. Resurgence retaliated, taking the other temple to raze IPT’s forward lower fort. Twelve minutes in, a clash led to three among Resurgence dead. IPT grabbed the boss then proceeded to pummel Resurgence’s posterior lower fort until it was a pile of rubble. Fourteen minutes in, a clash for the middle temple proved disastrous for Resurgence after E.T.C. (Stronger) caught them in his Mosh Pit. With four of Resurgence down, IPT shattered their core with ease.

Final stats: Imperium Pro Team Lv19, 15 kills vs. Resurgence Lv17, 4 kills

Game 2: Tomb of the Spider Queen

Two consecutive Webweaver offensives permitted Resurgence to destroy all of IPT’s forward forts. Then, at a lower lane clash thirteen minutes in, a Devouring Maw from Zagara (Nsj) and Mosh Pit from E.T.C (Stronger) allowed IPT to butcher three Resurgence heroes. After trashing a forward middle fort, IPT summoned their Webweavers, costing Resurgence their forward lower fort and several heroes. Sixteen minutes in, Resurgence let loose a Webweaver onslaught, but IPT fended off all invasions. IPT then captured the boss and pounded Resurgence’s posterior middle fort flat. Resurgence retaliated by releasing their Webweavers. But E.T.C. used his Mosh Pit once more, leading to four Resurgence deaths. IPT marched into a defenseless Resurgence base to claim victory.

LOSERS BRACKET

Meanwhile, in Losers Round 1, PSG defeated BS5 with a score of 2-0 in their favor.

PSG proceeded to Losers Round 2, where Resurgence defeated them with a score of 2-0.

Resurgence’s victory guaranteed them a spot in the Grand Final, where they confronted IPT once more.

GRAND FINAL: Imperium Pro Team vs. Resurgence

Game 1: Dragon Shire

While IPT’s Dragon Knight harassed Resurgence on the upper lane, the rest of IPT devastated Resurgence’s anterior lower fort. Later, a clash at the upper lane left three Resurgence heroes dead thanks to a Devouring Maw from Zagara (Nsj). IPT grabbed this chance to summon the Dragon Knight and devastate Resurgence’s forward middle fort. Nine minutes in, IPT annihilated the entire Resurgence team. Five minutes later, IPT eradicated the Resurgence team again, permitting them to ravage their posterior lower fort, then smash their core to bits.

Final stats: Imperium Pro Team Lv19, 19 kills vs. Resurgence Lv17, 5 kills

Game 2: Infernal Shrines

IPT summoned the Punisher thrice in a row, enabling them to level Resurgence’s middle forts and forward top fort. Then, thirteen minutes in, IPT destroyed the remaining top fort. Two minutes later, IPT captured another Punisher and executed three Resurgence heroes. As Resurgence’s lower forts crumbled under the Punisher’s might, IPT attacked the core. But Resurgence repelled the onslaught, taking down one IPT hero. Then, nineteen minutes in, Resurgence slayed three IPT heroes. This gave them the opportunity to summon a Punisher, but the succeeding assault barely put a dent in IPT’s defenses. The extremely lopsided game ended twenty-five minutes in, after IPT slaughtered four Resurgence heroes, seized a Punisher, and vaporized their enemy’s core.
