BMW shows off ‘self-balancing’ concept bike

BMW this week introduced the Motorrad VISION NEXT 100—and all that you need to know about this motorcycle is that it's an adult, because it can stand on its own.

It looks something straight out of the film "Tron", but just a touch less neon. Futuristic aesthetics aside, what sets it apart from other bikes is a "self-balancing" feature that allows it to "remain stable both during the ride and at a standstill."

BMW claims that the self-balancing means that there is "no chance" for the rider to tilt or fall over—which is why the rider in their launch video is not wearing a helmet.

Instead, riders will be given a "data glass" that, when necessary, activates to send information to the rider.

According to BMW, the balancing feature coupled with the visor ensures the safety of the rider.
