Dishonored 2 releases new trailers, including live-action short

Publisher Bethesda Softworks has released two new trailers for the upcoming stealth game, “Dishonored 2.”

The first is a live-action trailer entitled “Take Back What’s Yours.” It revolves around main heroes Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano as they utilize their arcane talents to punish guards who look like they enjoy eating donuts a little too much, and robots that resemble those droids in “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace,” only more badass.

Bethesda used the same strategy last year when they produced a live-action trailer for “Fallout 4.”

“Dishonored 2” is set 15 years after the first game. In it, players are free to assume the role of either Corvo Attano, the original game’s silent protagonist, or the recently dethroned Empress Emily Kaldwin. Corvo has been training Emily for the past 15 years; as full-grown woman, she now has her own set of killer moves.

Your choice of character won’t affect the main plot, but it will allow you to see the events unfold from a different pair of eyes. Each character also boasts their own special abilities.

Bethesda released another trailer that spotlights Emily Kaldwin, her motivations, and her powers.

Both protagonists are fully voiced this time around. Erica Luttrell plays Emily. Interestingly enough, Corvo is played by Stephen Russell, the man who gave the original “Thief” series’ Garret his iconic voice. Despite fan demand, the much-maligned 2014 “Thief” reboot didn’t cast Russell to voice its new version of Garrett. So some might see his migration to the “Dishonored” franchise to assume the role of Corvo as poetic justice.

Dishonored 2 will be released on November 11, 2016, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. — TJD, GMA News
