New fighter Kilgore coming to Killer Instinct season 3
Launched all the way back in 2013, Xbox One title “Killer Instinct” is still going strong. But with three seasons seeing the return of the entire cast from both the original “Killer Instinct” and its sequel, “Killer Instinct 2,” some fans have been wondering what’s left for the fighting game.
Apparently, there’s still room for fresh ideas, because a new character named “Kilgore” has just been officially revealed.
Hinted at earlier in December, this robotic monstrosity is entirely new to the series. Sporting massive guns for arms, Kilgore seems to be a bit of an overkill. Then again, when have “Killer Instinct” fighters played fair? One’s an immortal vampire, another’s a demonic demigod, and then you’ve got a giant toad who can morph various body parts into instruments of destruction.
How Kilgore is related to series mainstay Fulgore, and what part he plays in the “Killer Instinct” storyline, has yet to be elaborated on.
We also don’t know yet when the character will be released. According to “Killer Instinct” community manager Rukari Austin, however, there’s a chance players will be able to fight him before said release.
The game will be also be getting a new update boasting a slew of balance changes and skins. Most interesting of all these upcoming changes is the new, culturally authentic alternate costume for Native American warrior Thunder. Said costume can be acquired for free as long as you already own the character.
“Killer Instinct” season 3 saw the addition of classic characters Kim Wu, Tusk, Eyedol, and Gargos; brand new character Mira; and guest characters General RAAM, Arbiter, and Rash. Kilgore is possibly the last addition before the onset of season 4.
