Sony debuts mirrorless Alpha 9 DSLR in PHL

Sony Philippines debuted its new full-frame mirrorless camera, the Sony Alpha 9, in the country on Tuesday, June 20.

The event, held at the Kerry Sports Plaza in BGC, Taguig, offered hands-on demonstrations that allowed attendees to learn about the camera's various features while taking photos of sports events.

Gracing the launch were Alvin De Vera, Senior Director for Brand and Customer Communication and JV Ruanto, Product Marketing Officer for Digital Imaging.

Ryan Ong, a Sony Influencer and Sports and Events Photographer, was also on hand to demonstrate and showcase the the Alpha 9's quick photo capture feature. The camera also touts blackout-free continuous shooting at up to 20 frames per second; silent, vibration-free shooting at speeds of up to 1/32,000 of a second; and 693-point focal plane phase detection AF points, among others.

The Sony Alpha 9, compatible with Sony E-mount lenses, is already open for pre-orders and will be available starting July 1 at an SRP of P239,999. — TJD, GMA News
