Persona 5: The Animation announced for 2018

Those who enjoy Atlus’ Persona series and its latest Japanese RPG offering in “Persona 5” are going to get more out of the newest entry in the Megami Tensei franchise, as the publisher has announced that “Persona 5: The Animation” is coming next year to Japanese TV—and it's already got a trailer to hype up fans in the interim.

Originally released in September 2016 in Japan, Persona 5 is an adventure that sees the player take control of a high school student living out a single year where he meets friends, engages in social activities, and explores a different dungeons in a universe filled with enemies called shadows.

The game went on to be a critical success, earning many rewards as well as top scores for its release in Playstation 3 and Playstation 4. Eventually the game was ported to western audiences and officially released almost one year later on April 2017. That didn’t stop fans from giving it more universal acclaim and making it one of the best JRPG titles ever released.

Producing “Persona 5: The Animation” will be A-1 Productions, who have previously worked on past Persona anime titles and sticks true the games visuals and style of presentation.

The voice actors for the Japanese version of the game are set to reprise their roles for the animated series, but there’s no word yet on when a western release will follow soon after. One thing’s for sure – if it’s a popular title like Persona 5, it’s sure to happen in the near future. — TJD, GMA News
