Check if your email address has been harvested and included in this spam list

Paris-based security researcher Benkow uncovered a huge spam list of email addresses — 711 million long to be accurate.

According to iflscience, “the data was harvested by a machine known only as ‘onliner spambot’.”

Data that Benkow discovered is divided into two sets. “One of simple of email addresses, while the second more serious set contains address and passwords.”

Check if your email address is one of the 700 million addresses harvested. Go to haveibeenpwned.com and stick your email on the field. It will tell you if you are indeed among the unlucky ones, or worse, if your passwords have been picked too.

If your email address is included in the list, change your password. ASAP. “This goes not only for the email address in question but also for any other websites that you may have used that password for,” iflscience adds. — LA, GMA News
