Sixteen teams from all over the Philippines competed for the honor to be hailed as the country’s top CrossFire team for 2017 on October 14-15 at the TNC High Grounds Café.

CrossFire is a popular multiplayer first-person shooter game in the Philippines.

Developed by South Korean company SmileGate, CrossFire is played by pitting two five-man teams against each other. CrossFire has reportedly over 8 million concurrent players worldwide and 650 million total users.

Newcomers ArmorLOKO from Butuan City made it through the grand finals, after battling valiantly against last year’s Philippine champion Pacific.Wara in the loser’s bracket, Cebu’s pride MATTJESS, and pro team Execration.Reborn.

But the rising underdog story was cut short at the final match, as Pacific.Macta’s veteran esports experience proved to be too much for Butuan’s representatives.

As second placers, ArmorLOKO became the first regional team to reach the grand finals since the global esports tournament’s inception in 2013 and took home 6,000 USD.
