GMA New Media techno-creative lab Digify to launch piko-inspired mobile game

Digify Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of GMA New Media, is serving some fun with a dash of nostalgia with its new mobile game.

"Hop Pico Piko" is ready to charm gamers with its playful characters and the simple yet addictive objective to hop through the streets of Quezon City.

Inspired by the street game "piko," the game is an endless hopping game that familiarizes users with the streets of various barangays in Quezon City.

Users' objective is to go through each street by tapping only on active tiles. The next levels are unlocked by claiming all the streets.

"Hop Pico Piko" will be launching during this year's GameCon on February 10 to 11, 2018 in SM Megamall. It will be part of the event's "passport," which will require participants to download the game app.

Elaine Cedillo, project head of GameCon, said that the game is both fun and educational.

"It's Pinoy made...also a form of education. The streets, familiarizing with the area. It's a form of education by game," she said.

"It's a part of the GameCon line up. They'll be having stage time I think on Saturday. Ang objective is for the participants to download the game. They'll be a part of the passport. Kailangan idownload nila,"  Cedillo said.

Cedillo said that GameCon welcomed the collaboration with GMA New Media Inc, and is looking forward to future games the company will produce.

"Hopefully they will be bringing out the other games pa," she said. —JST, GMA News
