GMA News is PHL's top news organization in online video viewership

GMA News is the top news organization in the Philippines in terms of online video viewership, according to the VideoAces Awards by analytics firm Tubular Labs.

Data from the video measurement company showed that GMA News had over 1.2 billion views on Facebook, 1.1 billion views on YouTube, and 8.1 million million views on Twitter and Instagram in 2018.

GMA News ranked 17th among News & Politics Media Creators worldwide, three spots above ABS-CBN News.

International news outlets like ABC News, CNN, and Daily Mail topped the list.

“Our online viewership is a reflection of our commitment to Serbisyong Totoo, the hallmark of GMA News and Public Affairs, which remains true for any platform — from television to online,” Senior Vice President for News and Public Affairs Marissa L. Flores said.

Just like on television, GMA News and Public Affairs continues to be a trailblazer and innovator with its original productions in the digital space, in addition to making its award-winning programs available online.

Among its current slate of digital efforts are #GMAnewsfeed, a live Facebook newscast, FYI with Richard Heydarian, Ask Away: the GMA News Q&A, Magtanong Kay Mang Tani, DigiDokyu, #RealTalk, Conversations@GMANews, and the YouScoop Asks series for Eleksyon 2019, where senatorial candidates answer tough questions from citizen journalists.

GMA News and Public Affairs will also launch “Stand for Truth” - an all-new digital newscast that will premiere on April 15. The program will be anchored by Atom Araullo, Richard Heydarian, and Joyce Pring, with a lineup of millennial reporters who will deliver the news. “Stand for Truth” will stream on GMA News Online and the GMA News Public Affairs YouTube page
