Pinoy robotics team bags silver in Australia


The Philippine delegates won a silver award at the First Lego League (FLL) Asia Pacific Open Championship which was held in Sydney, Australia last week.

Ten students from Grace Christian College along with their two coaches bagged the "Silver Award for Gracious Professionalism" for their exemplary performance during the competition which was participated in by 43 teams from 21 countries.

According to the Department of Science and Technology, this award reflects the "ethos of encouraging high-quality work, valuing others and respecting individuals and community."

The team also placed 7th at the FLL's Robot Game for its project called "Infinity Board."

This invention "incorporates augmented reality and classical board games with microgravity," aimed at enhancing the leisure time of astronauts in outer space.
