“Brawl Quest” is a beat ‘em up that draws inspiration a myriad of things: Filipino pop culture, Philippine society, and classic arcade games like “Double Dragon” and “River City Ransom.” Its official description reads:
Evil bosses have run rampant across the Metro and you must find and stop them! Go through vast areas of the Metro, complete quests, defeat challenging bosses, and unlock unique brawlers. Join Alice and Luwan as they brawl across the Metro and restore peace and justice to the city.
Positive reception
“Brawl Quest” is the recipient of numerous accolades, winning the Best Sound & Music award at GameOn Awards 2019, First Place at Pocket Game’s Big Indie Pitch at G-STAR 2018 in South Korea, to name a few.

The awards are almost like icing on the cake. According to ThinkBIt Solutions director and co-founder Lord Christian Gosingtian, the game was "averaging a rating of 4.3 stars from our early access reviews."
There were a handful of negative criticism, mostly "due to technical problems such as the energy system not working as intended, and the tokens suddenly resetting which we worked on immediately.”
And based on those, the team has overhauled a lot of the game's mechanics, including reworked stages and bosses, additional side quests, new art assets, and more.
Gosingtian is particularly happy with the updated touch controls: “We believe that the beat ‘em up experience can now be truly realized on mobile with the new controls.”
Crossovers with local artists
If you watched the trailer closely, you'll notice hints of more exciting things about “Brawl Quest,” such as a crossover with popular Philippine webcomic “Little Things PH.”
The developers worked directly with “Little Things PH” creator Ivyree Rosario to make the crossover event happen, and for inputs on the moves of the new playable character, “Girly.”

“The event will run for a few weeks where players can open the app every day to get Girly tokens which they can collect to unlock the character,” said Gosingtian. “A series of event stages will also be available for players to beat that also reward them with gems and Girly tokens.”
At present, the developers are collaborating with three other local artists on future crossovers. They’re reluctant to say more about these events as it may spoil the surprise, but Gosingtian did state that new information about the “Brawl Quest” updates will soon be revealed on the ThinkBIT Games Facebook page and the game’s Reddit subreddit. — LA, GMA News
