ReliefAgad.ph launched for second tranche of social amelioration

The government has launched a website to digitize the application for and distribution of the second tranche of the cash subsidy program.

According to Ivan Mayrina’s Sunday report on “24 Oras Weekend,” the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology teamed up for the www.reliefagad.ph portal.

“This was developed para mapabilis ‘yung pag-gather ng information about the beneficiaries of the social amelioration program and, of course, to expedite the process na rin of the release of the second tranche,” DSWD spokesperson Irene Dumlao said.

Filipinos with gadgets and internet connection simply need to log on to the website and input the number of their social amelioration card and other personal information.

At the end of the form, they will be asked whether they want to claim their cash subsidy manually through banks or remittance centers or through digital platforms.

“So with this, we can be assured of a contactless distribution of the second tranche,” Dumlao said.

The website also has a Frequently Asked Questions page and provides hotline numbers to guide applicants.

Filipinos with no gadgets or internet connection may go to their local social welfare office to apply for the financial aid.

Around 17 million Filipinos are expected to benefit from the second tranche.

The distribution of the first tranche of cash subsidy was marred by long lines, a lack of social distancing, and payouts that lasted well into dawn.  — Julia Mari Ornedo/BM, GMA News
