Tired of trolls? Facebook now allows you to control who can comment on your public posts

Are you an influencer who loves sharing stuff to the public but you're tired of getting trolled every now and then?

Here's a good news for you: Facebook users can now decide who gets to comment on their public posts.

In a press release on Wednesday, the social media giant introduced a new tool which allows users to place restrictions on who can write comments, such as only friends or only mentioned profiles and pages.

"By adjusting your commenting audience, you can further control how you want to invite conversation onto your public posts and limit potentially unwanted interactions," Facebook said.

"If you're a public figure, creator, or brand, you too can choose to limit your commenting audience on your public posts to help you feel safe and engage in more meaningful conversations with your community."

Aside from managing the comments, Facebook users also now have the option to set their priorities on the content they want to see in their feeds.

The Favorites tool lets users select up to 30 friends and pages which will be higher ranked in the news feed and can be viewed via a separate filter.

A new menu called the Filter Bar will be at the top of the news feed.

This tool also gives users an access to Most Recent, which allows them to switch between the algorithm-driven and a more chronological feed showing newest posts first.

Users can also "snooze" or temporarily hide posts from certain profiles, pages, or groups, as well as opt out of seeing political ads. —MGP, GMA News
