CICC urges labeling of AI-generated content

Content produced using artificial intelligence should have a disclaimer to aid internet users, according to the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC). 

In a report on ''24 Oras'' on Wednesday, newly appointed CICC Deputy Executive Director Renato ''Aboy'' Paraiso made the suggestion even as his office is committed to pursuing individuals who utilize AI to facilitate scams and disseminate false information.

Meta, which runs Facebook and Instagram, already requires users to label content that has ''photorealistic video or realistic-sounding audio that has been digitally generated or altered, including with AI,'' while ''images will still receive a label if Meta’s systems detect they were AI-generated.''

TikTok also labels images and videos uploaded to its video-sharing service that have been generated through AI.

On Wednesday, Department of Education Secretary Sonny Angara said schools should help students develop critical thinking skills amid the proliferation of AI content. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
