Service disruption in eGOVPH app linked to user surge, says DICT

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) reported that a user surge caused a temporary disruption in some services of the eGOVPH app.

"The disruption was caused by an unexpected surge in user activity, which placed significant demand on system capacity. Our technical teams immediately responded, and affected services were promptly restored," the DICT said in a statement.

"We understand the inconvenience this may have caused our users and the public who rely on the platform for access to government services. We appreciate your patience and understanding," it added.

The incident, the DICT said, also shows that there is a growing number of users of the government's digital services.

With this, the DICT assured that "necessary enhancements to strengthen system capacity, improve performance, and ensure greater reliability during periods of high demand" will conducted.

"DICT acknowledges the concerns raised during the Senate hearing regarding the funding requirements of these critical services," the agency said.

"We are working closely with the Department of Budget and Management and other concerned agencies to support long-term resource planning and sustain the continued modernization of critical digital infrastructure," it added. — BAP, GMA News
