Weakened Henry finally out of PAR

After enhancing the southwest monsoon and causing heavy rain in recent days, Tropical Cyclone Henry (Matmo) weakened into a tropical storm and finally exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Wednesday morning.

State weather agency PAGASA said that as of 10:30 a.m., Henry weakened after crossing the land mass of Taiwan, where it had made landfall.

"(Henry) has weakened into a Tropical Storm after crossing the landmass of Taiwan and is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility," PAGASA said.

In past days, Henry enhanced the southwest monsoon and brought strong winds and heavy rain to parts of Luzon.

Henry came shortly after Typhoon Glenda (Rammasun), which devastated parts of Visayas and Luzon and left at least 97 dead and more than P7 billion in damage to property. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
