Storm 'Jenny' over 1,300 kms east of Batanes, slows down to 7 kph

Tropical storm "Jenny", which weather forecasters earlier said could later enhance the Southwest Monsoon, "has slowed down and maintained its strength" of 65 kilometers-per-hour top sustained winds, PAGASA said late Wednesday.

Jenny was a distant 1,340 kilometers east of Itbayat, Batanes and is crawling at a pace of 7 kph in a west northwest track.

PAGASA said there are no public storm warning signals over any part of the country, but fisherfolk were told "not to venture out over the eastern seaboards of the Visayas and Mindanao.

PAGASA also said estimated rainfall by Jenny out there in the Pacific Ocean is "moderate to heavy" within the storm's 800-kilometer diameter or span.  — ELR, GMA News
