Low-pressure area to enter PAR days before Christmas – PAGASA

State weather bureau PAGASA said on Monday that  a low -pressure area (LPA) was likely to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) a fews days before Christmas.

PAGASA senior weather specialist Chris Perez said on GMA News TV program "State of the Nation with Jessica Soho" that the LPA, which would be named Vinta, would enter the PAR by Thursday or Friday.

"Ito 'yung tinitingnan natin na may posibilidad na maging isang ganap na bagyo bago tuluyang pumasok ng ating area of responsibility, either sa Huwebes or Biyernes. And possibly maapektuhan 'yung overall weather ng central and southern part of the country this weekend," explained Perez.

"Tiningnan din natin 'yung mga historical tracks o records ng PAGASA. Talagang mga ganitong buwan, dates, papalapit na 'yung Christmas, talagang may chances na may mga bagyo na tumatama," Perez added.
