LPA outside PAR being monitored

A low-pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is being monitored by the Japan Meteorological Agency and the Joint Typhoon Warning Center, GMA's resident meteorologist Nathaniel "Mang Tani" Cruz said on Monday.

According to Mang Tani's report on GMA's "24 Oras," the LPA was spotted at the southeast of Guam and has no direct effect yet to the Philippines' weather.

Metraweather's wind map, however, showed high chances of it developing into a tropical depression. Its movement is still being monitored to determine whether it will enter the PAR in the following days.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan is affecting the whole country.

In Luzon, including Metro Manila, fair weather is expected with low chances of rain on Tuesday.

On the other hand, light rains may be experienced in Leyte and Southern Leyte in Visayas.

Caraga and Davao region in Mindanao may also expect rains throughout the day while rains in the afternoon may pour over Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental. —Dona Magsino/ LDF, GMA News
