Typhoon Wutip moving north-northwest outside PAR, but still no effect on PHL
Typhoon Wutip, which is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, was spotted moving north northwest at 10 kph 1,975 km east of Mindanao on Saturday afternoon.
PAGASA said Wutip had 150 kph winds with gustiness of up to 165 kph, according to a report on GMA News TV's Balitanghali.
The typhoon, however, had yet to have a direct on the country.
In its latest forecast issued Saturday morning at 4 a.m., PAGASA said the northeast monsoon is expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions accompanied with isolated light rains over the Bicol and Eastern Visayas regions, as well as the provinces of Aurora and Quezon.
The monsoon is also expected to bring partly cloudy conditions over the rest of the country, except for Mindanao where partly cloudy to cloudy conditions accompanied with isolated rain showers may be experienced.
Cooler temperatures due to the monsoon were recorded early Saturday morning in areas like Baguio City (11.6°C at 6:30 a.m.), Tanay, Rizal (17.3°C at 7 a.m.), and the National Capital Region (21.5°C at 4:40 a.m). —Margaret Claire Layug/KG, GMA News
