Egay weakens into an LPA —PAGASA
Tropical Depression Egay has weakened into a low-pressure area (LPA) at 2 p.m. on Monday, according to PAGASA.
In its 5 p.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau said that Signal No. 1 in Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands has already been lifted.
Light to moderate with at times heavy rains will be experienced over Batanes and the northern portion of Ilocos Norte, Apayao and Cagayan, including Babuyan Group of Islands, until early Tuesday due to the LPA (formerly Egay).
At 4 p.m., the LPA was located 190 kilometers east-northeast of Calayan, Cagayan. It is expected to dissipate within the next 24 to 48 hours.
The other LPA that was spotted 375 kilometers west of Ilocos Sur is not expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Meanwhile, monsoon rains may be experienced in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon and Mimaropa until early Tuesday.
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are likely to prevail over the Visayas and the rest of Luzon. —LDF, GMA News
