Cloudy skies, scattered rains in Metro Manila due to southwest monsoon
At 3 a.m. on Saturday, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 240 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan, PAGASA reported.
The weather bureau added that the southwest monsoon will also be affecting the western section of Luzon on Saturday.
Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Bicol Region, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the LPA.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the southwest monsoon.
Meanwhile, Caraga, Davao Region and SOCCSKSARGEN will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the trough of the LPA.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers brought by localized thunderstorms.
The weather bureau warns that flash floods and landslides may occur during occasional heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
The forecast wind speed in Luzon is moderate to strong moving southwest to western direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
For the rest of the country, the forecast wind speed is light to moderate moving southwest to west while coastal waters will be slight to moderate. — BAP, GMA News
