Habagat to bring rainshowers to Northern Luzon
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) being enhanced by Typhoon Lingling (known as Liwayway in the Philippines) will bring cloudy skies and scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in Northern Luzon on Saturday, PAGASA said in its early morning forecast.
The said weather condition will prevail over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Zambales and Bataan.
Lingling, which is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, continues to move farther away from the country and is expected to make landfall in North Korea in the next few days.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, as well as Visayas and Mindanao will enjoy fair weather. These areas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies and localized thunderstorms may occur in the afternoon.
PAGASA is monitoring two shallow low pressure areas, one on the western side of the country and the other on the east, in the Pacific Ocean. These shallow LPAs are not expected to intensify and may dissolve in the next few days.
The weather bureau also said Tropical Storm Faxai is too far away and is not expected to affect the country or enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
