LPA outside PAR intensifies into Tropical Depression, could turn into storm in 24 hrs.
The low-pressure area spotted east of Visayas has intensified into a tropical depression on Friday and may turn into a storm in 24 hours.
State weather bureau PAGASA said the tropical depression's center was estimated 1,410 kilometers east of Visayas, with winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour.
Rains are expected in the next few hours in parts of Ilocos region, Central Luzon, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas and Mindanao, according to the Metraweather rainfall forecast.
A large part of the country, especially Luzon, might experience rains over the weekend, particularly on Sunday.
Rainfall will also be experienced in Metro Manila over the weekend.
The tropical depression has a gustiness of up to 55 kph and is moving west northwest at 30 kph.
It is forecast to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility within 24 to 36 hours and will be named "Onyok," but has a low chance of making landfall.
