Cloudy skies, rain forecast across PHL; Typhoon Hagibis still outside PAR

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rainshowers should be expected over Metro Manila and the rest of the country within the next few hours, PAGASA said in its 24-hour public weather forecast on Monday afternoon.

In its 4 p.m. update, the state weather bureau also said localized thunderstorms may possibly bring about flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Typhoon Hagibis, meanwhile, is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The typhoon was last seen about 2,630 kilometers east of southern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 175 kph and gustiness of 215 kph.

If it continues to move west-northwest at 25 kilometers per hour, Hagibis may enter PAR on Friday, but PAGASA said it is unlikely to make landfall. — Julia Mari Ornedo/BM, GMA News
