Cloudy skies, rainshowers in eastern Mindanao due to trough of Hagibis


The trough of Typhoon Hagibis, which is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) will be affecting the eastern section of Mindanao while the northeasterly surface windflow will prevail over Luzon, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

CARAGA, Davao region, and Northern Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorm brought about by the trough of Hagibis.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

A warning was issued by the state weather bureau, that flash floods and landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The forecast wind speed in northern Luzon and the eastern section of Luzon is strong moving northeastward while coastal waters will be rough.

For the Visayas and the rest of Luzon, the forecast wind speed is light to moderate moving northeast to northwest while coastal water will remain slight to moderate.

In Mindanao forecast wind speed is light to moderate moving northwest to west while coastal waters will be slight to moderate. — BAP, GMA News
