Signal No. 2 over Catanduanes; No. 1 in Bicol, Samar provinces


Signal No. 2 has been raised over Catanduanes as tropical storm Ramon slowed down slight, PAGASA said in its severe weather bulletin on Wednesday.

According to the 5 p.m. bulletin, the following areas are still under Signal No. 1:

  • Camarines Norte
  • Camarines Sur
  • Albay
  • Sorsogon
  • Eastern Samar
  • Northern Samar 

The weather bureau added that Signal No. 1 may be raised over Polillo Island in the next bulletin which will be issued at 11 p.m. on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, light to moderate with occasional heavy rains may be experienced over the easter portion of Cagayan and Isabela, Camarines Norter, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes between Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, the weather bureau said.

PAGASA added that Apayao, Aurora, Quezon, and the rest of Cagayan, Isabela, and the Bicol region may experience light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains.

It also cautioned against sea travel over the seaboard of areas under storm warning signals, the seaboards of Northern Luzon, and the eastern seaboards of Central and SOuthern Luzon to forecasted rough sea conditions.

Residents of the affected areas were advised to take precautionary measures and coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices.

At 4 p.m., Ramon was last estimated at 390 kilometers east of Catrman, Northern Samar with maximum sustained winds of up to 65 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
