Bicol, eastern Visayas, Mindanao to experience scattered rain showers, thunderstorms

Because of the Easterlies, the Bicol Region, eastern Visayas, and Mindanao will experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on Saturday evening, according to the PAGASA's 4 p.m. public weather forecast.

Meanwhile, the eastern part of Luzon will encounter cirrus clouds brought about by the Easterlies, according to PAGASA Weather Specialist Raymond Ordinario.

At present, there is a shallow low pressure area forming outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility, but Ordinario said that it does not have the potential to turn into a typhoon in the next few days.

On Sunday, Luzon will experience generally fair weather with light rains. Metro Manila, however, will be experiencing rains as a "signature effect" of the Amihan until the afternoon.

The Bicol Region and eastern Visayas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Quezon province is set to have scattered rain showers, as well. Central and western Visayas will have fair weather with isolated light rains and thunderstorms

The Caraga region in Mindanao is set to encounter cloudy skies with thunderstorms. Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao will experience fair weather with isolated rain showers and localized thunderstorms.

The weather bureau also issued a gale warning for fishermen and owners of small vessels in Batanes, the northern coast of Cagayan, Babuyan Islands and Ilocos Norte. — MDM, GMA News
