Light rains in Metro Manila, parts of Luzon, Eastern Visayas due to northeast monsoon


The northeast monsoon will be affecting Luzon and and eastern Visayas on Thursday, according to the early morning forecast issued by PAGASA.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains due to the northeast monsoon.

The weather bureau warned that occasional to frequent gusts may occur especially in mountainous and coastal areas.

Davao Region and SOCCSKSARGEN will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms brought about by the Intertropical Convergence Zone. In these areas, flash floods or landslides may occur in high risk areas during heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, Eastern Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon and intermittent gusts are possible especially in mountainous and coastal areas.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms and isolated flash floods or landslides may occur in high risk areas during severe thunderstorms.

The wind forecast in Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, Eastern Visayas is strong and moving northeastward while coastal waters will remain rough.

The rest of the country, the wind forecast is moderate to strong and moving in the northeast direction while coastal waters will remain moderate to rough. — BAP, GMA News
