Cloudy skies, light rains in Metro Manila due to the northeast monsoon


The Tail-End of a Cold Front (TECF) will be affecting Eastern Visayas on Saturday while the northeast monsoon will be affecting Luzon, PAGASA reported in its early morning weather forecast.

Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the TECF.

The weather bureau warns that flash floods or landslides in high risk areas may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, and Aurora  will have cloudy skies with scattered light rains due to the northeast monsoon and that occasional to frequent gusts is possible especially in mountainous and coastal areas.

Palawan and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy skies to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers brought about by localized thunderstorms. The residents in these areas are warned that isolated flash floods or landslides in high risk areas are possible during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy skies to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to northeast monsoon and intermittent gusts are possible especially in mountainous and coastal areas.

The forecast wind speed in northern and eastern section of Luzon is strong and  moving in the northeast direction while coastal waters will remain rough.

For the rest of the country, the forecast wind speed is moderate to strong and moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough. — BAP, GMA News
