LPA enters PAR, as Northeast Monsoon to bring rains over parts of Luzon
The Northeast Monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies with light rains over parts of Luzon on Sunday, even as the low pressure area being monitored by PAGASA has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
In a 5 p.m. video update on Saturday, weather specialist Ariel Rojas said affected by the Northeast Monsoon are Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the provinces of Aurora, and Quezon.
He added that the Northeast Monsoon is also expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms are expected over Visayas and Mindanao due to localized thunderstorms.
No gale warning was issued over any part of the country.
Meanwhile, the LPA entered the PAR at 7 a.m. on Saturday morning.
It was last estimated at 745 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
The LPA has no direct effect on the Philippines and has a low chance of turning into a storm, the weather bureau said.
It is moving northwest and will affect the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao in the following days. — Joahna Lei Casilao/MDM, GMA News
