Ilocos, CAR, Cagayan Valley to have cloudy skies, light rains due to northeast monsoon


The northeast monsoon will be affecting extreme northern Luzon on Tuesday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Batanes will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

The Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also due to the northeast monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms. The weather bureau also reported that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The forecast wind speed for extreme northern Luzon will be moderate to strong and moving in the northeast direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

For the rest of Luzon, the forecast wind speed is light to moderate moving northeastward while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

In the Visayas and Mindanao, the forecast wind speed is light to moderate and moving in the east to northeast direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate. — BAP, GMA News
