Cloudy skies, light rains in Metro Manila due to northeast monsoon

The northeast monsoon will be affecting Luzon on Friday, PAGASA reported in its early morning weather forecast.

Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also due to the northeast monsoon.

Visayas and Mindanao will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers but this is due to localized thunderstorms. In these regions, the bureau said, flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The forecast wind speed in Luzon is from moderate to strong and moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

In the Visayas and Mindanao, the forecast wind speed is light to moderate and moving in the northeast direction while coastal waters will remain light to moderate. — BAP, GMA News
