Northern Luzon to experience cloudy skies, rain showers —PAGASA

Cloudy skies and isolated rain showers are expected to prevail over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Calabarzon, and Aurora province, while light rains are set to be experienced over the rest of Luzon on Saturday, according to PAGASA.

The rain showers in Luzon are caused by the Amihan or the Northeast Monsoon, according to PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio.

The Amihan is also causing colder winds in the Luzon and Visayas areas during night time and the early morning, he added.

Meanwhile, the Visayas and Mindanao regions are set to have cloudy skies, with a chance of isolated rain showers caused by thunderstorms.

Based on the latest image from the Japan Meteorological Agency's (JMA's) Himawari-8 satellite, the state weather bureau said a low-pressure area (LPA) or typhoon is not expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The following gale warning are up in the following areas: Batanes, Babuyan, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Coast of extreme Northern Quezon (General Nakar), Northern coast of Polilo Islands (Panukalan Burdeos), Northern coasts of Patnanongan Island, Northern and Eastern coast of Jomalig Island, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan.
