Amihan to bring cloudy skies, rain over the Philippines —PAGASA

The Northeast Monsoon or Amihan is expected to cast cloudy skies and rain over the Philippines within the next 24 hours, PAGASA said on Sunday afternoon.

In its 4 p.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau said the Amihan is affecting Luzon and Visayas.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain were forecast over Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon.

Cloudy skies with light rain will prevail over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Eastern Visayas, the rest of Central Luzon and of CALABARZON, Marinduque, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, Aklan, and Capiz.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain should be expected over the rest of Luzon and of Visayas.

Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms are seen to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over Mindanao.

PAGASA advised the public to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The state weather bureau also said there is no cyclone or low pressure area currently within or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. — Julia Mari Ornedo/BM, GMA News
