Easterlies to bring rainshowers across the country on Ash Wednesday —PAGASA

Warm easterly winds from the Pacific Ocean are expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon on Wednesday, PAGASA said Tuesday.

In its 24-hour weather update, the weather bureau added that the Easterlies will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Visayas and Mindanao.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Gale warnings are meanwhile raised over northern Quezon, the Polillo Group of Islands, the northern coasts of Camarines Provinces, the northern and eastern coasts of Catanduanes, and the eastern coast of Albay.

They are also raised over the northern and eastern coasts of Samar, Dinagat Island, Siargao, Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental, and Davao Occidental.

The weather bureau cautioned against sea voyage for small vessels due to expected rough to very rough sea conditions.

Meanwhile, the temperature in Metro Manila dropped to 22.9°C at 6 a.m. and peaked at 31.8°C at 2:50 p.m. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
