Northeast Monsoon to bring light rain over extreme northern Luzon

The Northeast Monsoon or Amihan is expected to bring cloudy skies with light rain over Batanes and Babuyan Islands on Friday, PAGASA said Thursday.

In its 24-hour weather update, the weather bureau said the monsoon may also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers may prevail over Visayas and Mindanao due to localized thunderstorms.

The weather bureau warned residents against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Gale warnings are meanwhile raised over Ilocos Norte, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, the eastern coasts of Catanduanes, and the northern and eastern coasts of the  Samar Provinces.
