LPA to bring scattered rains to Mindanao, Eastern and Central Visayas
Mindanao, Eastern and Central Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by a Low Pressure Area (LPA) on Thursday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.
The weather bureau warns that flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to scattered moderate to at times heavy rains.
As of 3 a.m. on Thursday, the LPA was estimated at 555 kilometers east southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
Northeast Monsoon, PAGASA adds, will be affecting northern Luzon.
In the Bicol Region, the residents may experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the Tail End of a Cold Front. There may be the occurence of flash floods or landslides due to scattered moderate to at times heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.
The rest of Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms but flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorm.
The forecast wind speed in northern Luzon is strong moving northeastward while coastal waters will be rough.
