LPA to bring rainshowers, thunderstorms over Mindanao — PAGASA
A low-pressure area (LPA) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Mindanao on Friday, PAGASA said Thursday.
At 3 p.m., the LPA was estimated at 325 kilometers southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur or 370 kilometers east of General Santos City, South Cotabato.
In its 24-hour weather update, the weather bureau added that the LPA or the tail-end of a cold front is also expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the Visayas and the Bicol Region.
PAGASA warned affected areas of possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes and the Babuyan Group of Islands, according to the weather bureau.
It may also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, it added.
PAGASA said gale warnings are raised over Batanes, Babuyan, Calayan, the northern and eastern coast of Cagayan, the northern and western coast of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur.
