Cloudy skies, scattered rainshowers in Visayas, Mindanao due to LPA
The Low Pressure Area (LPA) as of 3 a.m. on Friday was estimated at 150 kilometers east northeast of General Santos City, South Cotabato while the effects of the northeast monsoon will be felt in northern and central Luzon.
The weather bureau also reported that the Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the LPA and that flash floods or landslides are possible due to scattered moderate to at times heavy rains.
The Bicol Region, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon and Oriental Mindoro will also have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the Tail End of a Cold Front. Flash floods or landslides may also occur in these areas due to scattered moderate to at times heavy rains.
In Cagayan Valley and Aurora, there will be cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.
The forecast wind speed in northern Luzon is strong and moving northeastward as the coastal waters remain rough.
The rest of Luzon will be moderate to strong and moving that northeast direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
In the Visayas and Mindanao, the forecast wind speed is moderate and moving in the northeast to northwest direction while coastal waters will be moderate. — BAP, GMA News
