Cloudy skies, scattered rains in Zamboanga due to LPA

The Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 30 kilometers West Northwest of Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur early Saturday morning, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

The northeast monsoon, meanwhile, will be affecting Northern Luzon on Saturday.

The Visayas, Caraga region and the Zamboanga Peninsula will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the LPA. There is also a possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to scattered moderate to at times heavy rains.

The Bicol Region with the provinces of Quezon, Marinduque, and Romblon will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the Tail End of a Cold Front. The weather bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to scattered moderate to at times heavy rains.

Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands, on the other hand, will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also due to the northeast monsoon.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorm brought about by localized thunderstorms with the possibility of flash floods or landslides due to scattered moderate to at times heavy rains.

The forecast wind speed for northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of Luzon will have moderate wind speed, moving in the northeast direction while coastal waters will remain moderate.

The Visayas and Mindanao will have moderate wind speed moving northeast to northwestward while coastal waters will be moderate. — BAP, GMA News
