Tail-end of cold front to bring rainshowers, thunderstorms on Thursday

The tail-end of a cold front is expected to bring cloudy skies with rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms over Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, and Laguna on Thursday, PAGASA said Wednesday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency cautioned affected residents against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao.

It may also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region and the rest of the Cordillera Region and the Cagayan Valley.

Despite this, PAGASA said the monsoon has no significant effect on the country.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers may meanwhile prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.

The weather agency warned against possible flash floods or landslides.

Due to rough to very rough sea conditions, gale warnings are raised over Batanes, Babuyan, Calayan, Ilocos Norte, and the northern coast of Cagayan.

PAGASA advised small vessels against sea voyage and alerted large vessels against big waves.

Meanwhile, the temperature in Metro Manila peaked at 38°C at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to PAGASA, the maximum temperature for the past five days did not drop below 33°C.
