Heat index in Dagupan City soars to record 51°C
Dagupan City experienced a scorching afternoon on Tuesday as heat index rose to 51 degrees Celsius, the highest to be recorded since the dry season, PAGASA said.
Dagupan earlier recorded a heat index of 50°C.
The weather bureau cautioned that heat cramps and heat exhaustion may be possible amid a heat index between 41 to 51°C while a heat stroke is possible with continued physical activity.
Meanwhile, the top five PAGASA stations that recorded the highest temperature in the country on Tuesday was in Northern and Central Luzon, the state weather bureau said.
Echague in Isabela recorded 40°C; Tuguegarao City recorded 39.6°C; Camiling, Tarlac recorded 39.4°C; Science City of Munoz recorded 38°C; and Clark, Pampanga recorded 37.9°C.
